About Me

Hello all!

My name is Sami Custer and I am a  typical southern classy, yet sassy, twenty something who is busy trying to make her mark on the world! Luckily, I'm very energetic & energized and love to make the most out of my days inside and out of the classroom.

I am an extreme optimist and love to be around people who can make me laugh. I'm family oriented; have a diverse circle of friends; and the only child I take care of at the moment is my yorkatese, Cookie. Here's a sneak peak at other things that make me smile...

This is my 2nd year teaching elementary students, and my first year in Caddo Parish. It is also my first year to teach gifted elementary students in a program they call "Gateway" (hence the tag line: unique students) where a small group of students from each grade level are pulled from their homeroom to attend my class for their ELA lesson(s). I've also lucky enough to sponsor the middle school cheerleaders at our school (since its PreK-8th). Some days I feel bipolar converting from managing 8 year olds to teenagers; but both experiences are enjoyable and make me feel truly blessed to work at a school where I can be a part of both groups!

I'm aware that over the past year teacher blogs have become a popular way for teachers nation wide to "show and tell"; the possibility for new ideas to incorporate in your classroom could be endless through this! Its also a wonderful way to network yourself if you have an Etsy, Pinterest, or TeachersPayTeachers account. Thanks to educational blogs, us teacheristas can save the airfare and collaborate with other teachers in the comfort of our PJ's while watching DVR! ;) I really hope my blogging career turns into a success, and that you all continue to follow me and check out what me and my kiddos are up to!

Happy Blogging Everyone!
